Payment Terms

These Payment Terms form part of the Terms of Service and apply to all paid subscriptions on the Local Tenders platform.
1. Subscription Fees & VAT
All prices displayed on the Platform are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.
Where applicable, VAT will be added at checkout in accordance with UK tax law. Local Tenders Limited is VAT registered.
You are responsible for any taxes, duties, or charges applicable to your subscription.
2. Subscription Billing
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis, either monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected at checkout.
- Monthly subscriptions are charged on the same date each month
- Annual subscriptions are charged on the same date each year
By purchasing a subscription, you agree to pay all applicable fees in accordance with these Payment Terms.
3. Automatic Renewal
All subscriptions auto-renew by default.
By providing a payment method, you authorise Local Tenders Limited to automatically charge your payment method at the start of each billing period until the subscription is cancelled.
4. Payment Methods & Processing
Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
- Major credit and debit cards are accepted
- Local Tenders does not store full card details
- Stripe processes payments in accordance with its own terms and policies
Payment failures, holds, or restrictions imposed by Stripe are outside the control of Local Tenders.
5. Currency
All subscription fees are charged in GBP (£).
6. Failed Payments & Suspension
If a payment fails:
- Access to the Platform is immediately suspended
- Public contractor profiles are hidden
- Platform features become unavailable
Access will be restored only once outstanding payments are successfully collected.
7. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute:
- Your account may be immediately suspended
- You may be liable for any chargeback fees incurred
- Continued access to the Platform may be refused
Abusive or unjustified chargebacks may result in permanent termination.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via:
- Your account settings, or
- The Stripe Customer Portal
Upon cancellation:
- Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
- No further charges will be made
- No refunds are provided for unused time
9. Refunds
Subscription fees are non-refundable.
Refunds may be issued only at our discretion and on a case-by-case basis. No refunds are provided where:
- A subscription is cancelled mid-term
- An account is suspended or terminated for breach
- Access is restricted due to non-payment
10. Downtime & Availability
Local Tenders does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Platform.
- No service level commitments are provided
- No refunds or credits are issued for downtime, outages, or performance issues
11. Price Changes
We may change subscription prices at any time.
Price changes take effect at the next billing cycle. Continued use of the Platform after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
12. Promotional Discounts
Promotional or discounted pricing applies only for the stated period.
At the end of the promotional period:
- The subscription automatically renews at the standard rate
- No further notice is required
13. Termination for Breach
If your account is terminated or suspended for breach of the Terms of Service:
- All outstanding fees remain payable
- All subscription fees are forfeited
- No refunds will be issued
14. Changes to Payment Terms
We may update these Payment Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on the Platform and apply from the date of publication.
